School Announcements

  • Friday, January 17                                                   Day 3

     

    There will be no announcements next week during mid-years. We will say the pledge and hold a moment of silence only.  Ms Nelson “can” put announcements on the NHS website if you would like. IF you want an announcement to go on the website next week, please email Ms. Nelson by 8:00 the day of.

    All Wellness Lockers must be cleaned out by Wednesday January 22nd and please turn in your lock to your wellness teacher.

    Bring Change to Mind knows that midterms next week can be stressful, so we have organized for service dogs to come and relieve some of that stress! Today come to the library during your lunch and say hi to the dogs and puppies!” They will be here during all three lunches – but students, make sure to come only during your lunch time! Thank you

    The American Red Cross is working to aid victims of the devastating fires in Southern California.  Newburyport High School students can help too!

     

        The NHS Red Cross club is collecting cash donations during lunch blocks this week.

     

    Every student is encouraged to contribute what they can so we can make a substantial donation to the American Red Cross for Fire victims.

     

        Don't forget to bring in your donations

    Come to Flatbread in Amesbury tonight from 5-9pm to support the students going on the France and Spain trip in tour April!” Eat in or take out counts!

     

    The Investment Club is meeting right after school today in the College and Career Center. This week's meeting will be about side hustles, or unconventional methods of making money on the side.

    The American Red Cross is working to aid victims of the devastating fires in Southern California.  Newburyport High School students can help too!

    The NHS Red Cross club is collecting cash donations during lunch blocks on Tuesday through Friday this week.  Every student is encouraged to contribute one dollar so we can make a substantial donation of $800 to the American Red Cross for Fire victims.

    Don't forget to bring in your donations tomorrow!

     

     

    Today is the Day!! The USA Gap Year Fair is Tonight!

    Join us here at NHS from 6pm-8:30pm for the USA Gap Year Fair. All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!

     

     

    This past Saturday four NHS musicians joined the finest high school players from 60 area schools in the northeastern district music concert, which was fabulous! Give a big congratulation to Evan Lagueux, Sam Parr, Max Piotrowski, and Cedar Schumacher for this fantastic accomplishment!

    This month's Poetry Soup will take place tonight, starting at 7:15 pm in room 118 and featuring Will C. , a slam poet, emcee, and improvisational artist. Everyone is always welcome to come listen and enjoy. Reading a piece is optional.

    ATTN STUDENTS WHO ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND THE NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY NYC TRIP IN APRIL:

    The trip is IN DANGER OF BEING CANCELLED... Not enough students have brought in their deposit -- Please bring in your $100 deposit ASAP to Mr. Smith in Room 11, if you have not done so already...  Specific details are posted in the NAHS Google Classroom.

     

    On Monday of next week come learn about the benefits of taking a Gap Year, explore summer opportunities, and meet Gap Year providers by attending a USA Gap Year Fair, hosted here at NHS starting at 6pm

    A gap year is a transformative time between high school and college when students explore their interests, build new skills, and gain valuable life experience. Plus, high school seniors who attend the fair can enter to win a $5,000 Gap Year scholarship! 

    So come and get answers to all your gap year questions, help make informed decisions, and connect with face-to-face experts from all over the world!
