Sweet Paws Rescue Volunteer Program
If you've worked with Sweet Paws Rescue already, thank you! If you don'talready know us, Sweet Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer animal rescue organization located in Groveland, MA. We are so excited to introduce you to our High School Volunteer program!About every 2 weeks Sweet Paws brings a new group of puppies and kittens up from our Southern rescue teams. Massachusetts law requires a 48 hour "isolation" at our Groveland facility (ISO) before they go home with adopters and fosters. To be ready, we need help preparing clean, safe, and calming spaces for our pups and kitties. Please come earn service hours by helping us with cleaning, stocking, and setting up!This year we're happily expanding the program that allows 16 and 17 year olds the opportunity to earn a spot in our puppy volunteer program. If you complete 3 "ISO Shifts" you will be invited to attend Dog Team training and will be able to join that team to help care for arriving puppies! We are also so excited that Barktoberfest is back! On October 19th we will host our biggest annual fundraiser at Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm in Newbury and we need LOTS of volunteers to help make it a successful event.
"ISO Shifts" will generally be every two weeks on Thursdays before transports from 6-8pm and the following Tuesday from 6-8.Please be sure that you provide a personal email when you sign up andcheck it often as we add special volunteer opportunities as projects pop up!If you're ready to volunteer for upcoming events, SIGN UP HEREAll volunteers are required to complete a WAIVER (please have a parent complete it if you are under 18)Junior Rescue Team

Opportunity for Your Students: Join the Make-A-Wish Youth Leadership Council
Our Youth Leadership Council (YLC) has been empowering high school students to become conscious leaders in their communities for the past few years. Our YLC students experience firsthand the incredible power of giving back while growing and developing skills to aid them in their future endeavors and making lifelong friends from other parts of the state. We are now opening the application process for the upcoming term and are seeking students passionate about making a difference.
About the YLC: The YLC is a unique after-school program that provides a platform for students to lead awareness campaigns, engage with their communities, and support local children in need. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, a strong sense of responsibility, and a deep passion for making a positive impact on their communities. Here are some key benefits for students:
·Develop leadership skills through hands-on community engagement, including leading awareness campaigns.
·Make a tangible impact by fulfilling the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses.
·Build lasting friendships with peers from diverse backgrounds.
·Enhance public speaking abilities and boost self-confidence.
·Accrue volunteer and community service hours with school approval.
·Network with local business professionals for future academic and professional opportunities.
If you believe any of your students would be a good fit for the YLC, we kindly request your assistance in spreading the word about this opportunity. Additional details on benefits, requirements and application can be found HERE.
Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mariame Sano.
Thank you for your dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders. Together, we can inspire young minds to become change-makers and positively impact our communities.
