An element of the U.S. military that serves both community and country.  The Guard responds to domestic emergencies, overseas combat missions, counterdrug efforts, reconstruction missions and much more.  

The naval warfare branch, responsible for navel and amphibious operations.

The aerial and space warfare branch, responsible for air and space operations.
